What is #MasterGIMPers?

MasterGIMPers is a resource and tutorial group aimed to help new and experienced users of GIMP to learn more about the software and snazzy things that can be done with it, and to provide resources for them to use. It is not a general Art Group.
And because this group is dedicated to providing resources and tutorials only please note:

:pointr:We're not taking art work!:pointl:

Please have a look at our affiliates like #GIMP-Artists or #GIMPArtistsUnite if you want to submit art.

Anybody can join, we'll be happy to see many dedicated GIMPers here! Requests are accepted automatically.

:bulletorange:Submissions:bulletorange:
Just go to the deviation page and hit the submit-to-group button on the right side, then select the gallery folder you want the deviation in and hit submit. That's it! ^.^
We'll then vote on the submission to be included in our gallery.

Note: We might not accept submission such as tutorials that aren't readable, lack descriptions and good pictures, are confusing, etc.!

If that's the case we'll let you know and give you a chance to fix it. This is not to be mean, but only to ensure at least a bit of quality for our members.

So I'm back from holidays :B

And here is a link I wanted to share with you all: the GIMP handbook [link]
It's really interesting to go through and maybe you'll find something you didn't know yet :eyes:

Also, I wanted to thank =Jibodeah for re-doing the group rules blog and cleaning it up so awesome! :tighthug: It's now a lot easier to get the important points :P

Oh and ~Geosammy let us know that he corrected the file type for his Gimp Rainbow Brushes [link] so they should work now. Just in case anybody downloaded those before the fix :meow:

Actually you guys can ignore that last comment but i do have another question:

How do you install brushes in Gimp 2.8 I've tried ALL of the ways i use to like in 2.6 and i even tried a couple other options that i thought would work but it doesn't....some help please ^^; ANYBODY who knows this answer can answer this please:liquisoft:

I haven't actually installed GIMP 2.8 yet so I don't know but you can get answers by going to GIMPchat since there are quite a few of the developers there that have installed GIMP 2.8 and can help

Also I'm working on the chrome effect to image - you requested and I'm just perfecting it and making it as shiny as possible - I should post the video and written tutorial either today or tomorrow.

Hey i was wondering something about Gimp 2.8 IS there some sort of Theme Thingy that we change use to change Gimp's Look to suit our taste? Like a Gimp theme Package or something i know that 2.6 had it I'm just not sure if it works for 2.8...A reply back would be nice please and if there one that works with 2.8 please link me to it ^^.

Please help me :< When I save my images from gimp, they turn out with a yellowish tint and it ruins all my original colours. Is there a way to fix this? :/

Im not crazy.My reality is just different from yours.
Shikamaru should go over to the Doctor and help control the Vashta Nerada.
Help Sherlock and John with the cases.Or just bang Temari, that's cool too. Hitachiin twins are ginger.So are Fred and George.

Oh no don't worry now, it's all fixed! XD Thanks so much though! It turns out that it just looked yellowish because my sister pointed out that the background in Gimp is grey, which made my colours stand out but in my pictures folder it's white and it's more dominant, making my colours appear to have a yellow tinge. Now I've uploaded it on Deviantart and the grey background keeps my natural colours in! I'm happy now :dance:

I know it's lazy to ask here but I don't actually know where to look x.X

I think there was a good tutorial for this but i don't find anywhere... I'm trying to do Magic Circles, but it's hard to find tutos about it on gimp, and a normal circle on gimp seems too pixeled =/

Any tips? X.X

ummm, what are "magic circles" :? How are they different exactly from the normal ones (besides pixelated, cause GIMP iis pixel-based)?
